4 Helpful Church Safety and Prevention Resources

Keeping your church safe and protecting it from unexpected disasters can be a difficult task. It’s impossible to be prepared for every situation, but we’re going to help give you a head start by directing you to some valuable church safety and prevention resources that could help you keep your ministry and people safe.

Suracy Faith Resource Library
If you’re unfamiliar, we’ve built a sprawling library full of different church safety resources to help guide you and your church when it comes to church safety and risk management. Our resource library includes informative articles, educational materials like infographics and printed materials, and videos (coming soon).

Red Cross
The Red Cross is an internationally recognized organization that provides training, resources, and help to communities both large and small. They have several different classes you can take including first aid and CPR, and also offer different resources for things like transportation and legal matters.

FEMA
The Federal Emergency Management Agency – or FEMA – is the government agency in charge of helping areas impacted by emergencies and disasters. They help rebuild after hurricanes, providing housing to displaced people, and provide funding for communities. Their website offers information on natural disasters, how to build a saferoom, and much more.

OSHA
OSHA – or the Occupational Safety and Health Administration – provides oversight and guidance on workplace safety to make sure the proper safety guidelines are being followed to help prevent employee accidents and deaths. The Health and Resources section of their website provides valuable data about inspections, fatalities, etc. and contains several resources about safety and health topics.

We always hope that these types of church safety and prevention resources will never be needed, but if they are, we hope they’ll help guide you through the difficult task of preparing and responding to any incidents your church may experience. Suracy Faith is always here to help ensure your church has the proper coverage to help protect it from disasters and rebuild in the event of a catastrophe.
